Spring Fling Picnic and Foxhunt (2019)

The Club's Spring Picnic and Foxhunt will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at John Prince Park in Lake Worth, FL. All participants in the Foxhunt are asked to first report to the picnic site at 10:00 AM to get the frequencies for the two hidden transmitters (Foxes) and other instructions. Both transmitters will be transmitting on 2 Meters. Everyone is welcome to participate in the Foxhunt. You do not need to be a member of the West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Group, Inc. You can look for one or both hidden transmitters. Once you find a Fox, you should call the Home station to report your start and end times and the code number on the transmitter. No prizes will be awarded this year. You'll be working for bragging rights.

The picnic will start at 11:30 AM and Foxhunters are welcome to stay for the picnic. Club members, family and friends are welcome to join us for hot dogs, hamburgers, soft drinks, water and snacks.

To find our picnic site, enter the park using the Congress Ave entrance (4759 S. Congress Ave, Lake Worth, FL). The entrance is just south of the driving range. Follow the road around heading toward the Smythe Pavilion. You will pass by the Sheriff's Office site. The picnic area will be just before the Smythe Pavilion on the right hand side of the road. There is a large parking lot.

We will have a Talk-in station on the air to help you find the park and the picnic site. We will be using the AREC/WR4AKX repeater, 146.670 Mhz, -600 Khz offset, and a PL tone of 110.9.
