West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Group, Inc

The West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Group, Inc is an ARRL affiliated club with specialties in Contesting, Digital Modes, DX, General Interest, Public Service/Emergency, HF and VHF/UHF. We have been recognized by the ARRL as a Special Service Club for our community service work. The West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Group has 2 VHF Repeaters one FM, W4PBH and one D-Star, K4WPB. The club also has a permanent Amateur Radio Exhibit and station, WS4FSC, at the South Florida Science Center & Aquarium.

General meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday every month at 7:00PM Local Time. Meetings are open to everyone and we are known as the friendliest club in the area.

We provide entry level Technician license classes, General License classes and the Extra License classes. These are complete classes spread over many weeks and not just memorization or cram type sessions. We offer a number of additional classes including Morse Code, Basic Electronics, Hands On Radio, D-Star, Antenna Building and more. The West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Group offers ARRL VE license testing multiple times per year. The West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Group sponsors many activities like VHF FM and D-Star Nets, Field Day, 2 Picnics each year, Weekly Breakfast, Radio Raffles, Field Trips and sponsors the Worked All Palm Beach Contest. The West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Group has over 140 members from across Palm Beach County. Many of our club members are involved with the Science Museum, ARES/RACES, Sky warn, MARS and CERT programs.

Since Early 193Os the West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Club has been a community supported and nationally recognized radio club, not only for it's fine radio skills and teachings, but for its dedication to the community of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County and the entire Amateur Radio community within Palm Beach County. We are proud to be an ARRL Special Service Club and the largest Amateur Radio group in Palm Beach County.

We are a general interest group. We have members interested in just about everything: rag chewing, contests, home brew and kit-building, antennas, digital modes, emergency communication, DXing, social time, community service, and other areas. We are extremely proud of our Club Radio Station located at the South Florida Science Center & Aquarium. Since opening in late 2010, thousands of youngsters have spoken "on the air" to HAMS worldwide (and many have gone on to become licensed Hams).
