Hello All,
Randy Powell, Sam Wilson, and I had a productive day at Santaluces HS with our Radio Demo. Sam had a great portable radio chest as well as fox hunting equipment. Randy had an HF with a portable antennae that functions in the 20M band to display. The students attending were both Physics and General Ed Science. Some of the students were just intrigued!
Special thanks to Jim in Green Acres and Ron from Boca Raton for spending some time on the air in the 2M band chatting on the air with students. Jeff, thanks for popping in. That was- chatting with students and me on my 2M mobile radio. Randy has some great pics!
I think we may have our foot in the door to do this type of demo again at a school next year. Prior to the demo, Victor Morales presented a PPT curriculum that our club already has put together for use in schools.
I hope to see you all at the meeting on the 28th!

Great job Cindy, Randy and Sam. It's nice to know there are some good young people out there. It was a pleasure speaking with them.

Re: Good Report on Radio Demo
Thank you to all who participated in our previous Education Outreach and this follow-up event at Santaluces High School. Cindy, Randy, Sam, Victor, Jim, Jeff, and Ron, great job moving this forward and taking it to completion today. And look at the hat trick of WPBARG shirts there today representing us. Looking good, folks!
Cindy, you're being modest. It was you and Randy who developed that curriculum from scratch, and did an outstanding job. Then Victor carried it over the finish line! Great teamwork from everyone.
You never know the impact events like this could have, not only for the inspiration it may provide a student, but the contribution to science that student may go on to advance later in their career.
I want to extend a special thank you to Principal Tameka Robinson and the administration at Santaluces High School for providing us the opportunity to influence young minds, including those who may later find themselves in STEM related fields.
