Hello Fellow Hams,
Our annual Palm Beach County hurricane exercise will take place on Saturday May 30th, 2026 from 9:00am to 10:00am. Hurricane Gail is a CAT 4 with winds up to 150 mph.
3 Net Controllers will be at the PBC EOC and
3 Net Controllers in separate areas of PBC.
The exercise will take place on 6 different repeaters, 3 simplex frequencies and even GMRS in the South part of the County.
We will be asking for damage assessmnents and any requests for assistance. Traffic can be passed during this exercise.

Participants:
This exercise is for all licensed Amateur Radio Operators operating within Palm Beach
County and selected operators outside of the county.
Description:
Hurricane Gail is a strong category 4 storm with maximum sustained winds at 145 mph.
She has just passed over Palm Beach County and is heading out to the Gulf of Mexico. Move-
ment is at 15 MPH, direction is NW.
Most of our infrastructure is out. Now is the time for our Ham Radio Operators to swing
into action.
Objectives:
1. Make sure that you and your families are safe
2. Check your property for damage
3. Check on your neighbors to see if they are safe and if they have suffered any damage
4. Check your community for damage. Make notes as they will be important when reporting
injuries, damage or help needed.
*Your reports will be sent during this exercise. Whether you are in a community, EOC, Hospital,
Shelter or anywhere else, you will let the Net Control Operator know where you are located.
**Remember: This is not real it's an exercise**. You can make up a location in Palm Beach
County.*
There will be three sections of the County to give your reports to, but in a real-life event the
reporting activity will utilize the County's Emergency Operating Areas (EOA):
1. North NET Control will include EOA 2, and EOA 3. Major areas include; Belle Glade,
Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, Loxahatchee, Riviera Beach, West Lake
and their unincorporated areas.
2. Central NET Control is EOA 1 and EOA 4. Major areas include; Belle Glade, South
Bay, Pahokee, Greenacres, Palm Springs, Lake Worth Beach, Lantana, Wellington and
their unincorporated areas.
3.South NET Control is EOA 5 and EOA 6. Major areas include; Boca Raton, Boynton
Beach, Delray Beach and their unincorporated areas.
