Conference Purpose
The primary goal of the National Hurricane Conference is to improve hurricane preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation in order to save lives and property in the United States and the tropical islands of the Caribbean and Pacific.

Who Should Attend
The National Hurricane Conference is the nation’s forum for education and professional training in hurricane and disaster preparedness. With an average of 2,500 attendees from around the country, the conference covers all major aspects of hurricane preparedness, response and recovery.

Glancing at that website, I was impressed by the level of planning and detail. The agenda is well structured from a high altitude view while providing an opportunity to drill down into the individual courses with their course descriptions. Understandably, it was emergency management centric, focusing on leadership training, but there were also some rather interesting workshops. If the training and workshops are as good as they appear, $450 for the 3 days is a bargain. I think most people who are going have long ago booked their reservation, but still good info here!

As an aside, Rosen has 7 or 8 hotel properties in the Orlando area, and having stayed at a few of them, they offered very good value for the money.

I've never been to the National Hurricane Conference, but in New York State attended several Disaster Preparedness Conferences.
Well worth the time..
