Field Day 2024 - Public

Post by Michael M »

WPBARG members, please see the note at the bottom of this post.

==================================================

We will be conducting our Field Day operations at The American Legion Post 47, located at 2315 North Dixie Highway, Lake Worth, FL 33460. The event begins at 1800 UTC (2 p.m.) on June 22, and ends at 2 p.m on June 23.

The operational hours for all guests, including guest operators and visitors, will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 and ends at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23.

During those guest operational hours everyone is welcome! If you’d like to come by to observe, just to see what we’re doing and what Field Day is like, we welcome you! If you’d like to sit at one of our stations and operate, we welcome you!

This is a great opportunity for people to observe and socialize, and even get on the air, licensed or not.

While we will be operating off the main grid, The American Legion will have full power and air conditioning. Food and drinks will be available, with the pricing for that set by Post 47.

No invitation is necessary, just come on over!

We will do our best to monitor the 146.67 repeater for the talk-in. For more information on that repeater, please go here – https://arec67.org/

As with every event we sponsor, everyone is invited… members, non-members, participants and observers, come one, come all!

We are all very excited to be doing Field Day this year, and we hope to see YOU!

=================================================
NOTE:
We have two Field Day topics.

This one, “Field Day 2024 - Public,” which is open to the public.

And

“Field Day,” which is internal for members only, located here - viewtopic.php?t=439

We will use “Field Day Public” for general announcements and discussions on this upcoming Field Day, and the “Field Day” for internal messaging and information, which is visible to WPBARG members only.

Both will remain a “sticky,” until after Field Day, where they will stay at the top of their respective Forum and easy to find.

Please don't create any additional Field Day topics, but instead use one of these two depending on the purpose.

Greetings. For the field day on the 22nd. the youth or non Ham invitees will be able to talk briefly by radio, like in my old days, next to the operator? I am thinking of a group of Pathfinders (youngsters at church). Thanks

Yes. We will have a separate station and a supervising control operator dedicated just for that purpose. If you like, I believe you can be the acting control operator for your group.

Thank you. I'll be there helping. I just want to double check my schedule and define the hours that I can be there.
