Saturday in The Park, Picnic & Open House – April 26

Post by Michael M »

It's that fun time of the month again! This month, an addition to our monthly Saturday in the Park, we will be doing a Picnic and an Open House.

The West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Group will host “Ham Radio Open House” on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at John Prince Park, 2700 6th Avenue S, Lake Worth Beach from 9AM until 1PM. The activity is a time to showcase how modern and innovative amateur radio is and to participate in hands-on activities as part of Citizen Science Month.

This month we are being promoted in over five local publications, including Eventbrite, which you can see right now here:

Sorry I won't be there; already have plans with my granddaughter at Disney that weekend.

Hope it goes well!

Are you sure your granddaughter wouldn't enjoy our event more than Disney World?

Joking aside, you will be missed. We are expecting a big turnout, so we should have plenty of pictures. Enjoy your time and safe travels!

Saturday in The Park – April 26 - Florida QSO Party

Post by WB0ZJJ »

Just noticed that the Florida QSO Party starts at noon while we are "Saturday in The Park"ing.

The Florida QSO Party runs from noon till 10pm EDT and again Sunday 8am to 6pm EDT.

Rules: https://floridaqsoparty.org/rules/

I'm going to be sporting my new Gabil 7350 vertical atop my Prius Prime auto for portable QRP CW contacts with my QMX Mid-Band rig, (sending "RST PAL" for Palm Beach County).

(If I don't get any QRP contacts, I'm going home to try QRO CW with my new FT-710.)

I've never worked the Florida QSO Party before so looking to get at least one QSO to submit.
