LoTW will be unavailable June 27 to July 2, 2025
LoTW will be unavailable from June 27 to July 2, 2025. ARRL’s Logbook of the World (LoTW) is the primary means for providing confirmations for AMSAT awards such as GridMaster, Rover, and Reverse VUCC, as well as ARRL Awards, such as VUCC, DXCC, and Worked All States. Almost all satellite operators use it. As a part of the ongoing modernization of the ARRL systems infrastructure, LoTW will be receiving major upgrades to the operating system it is running on, the relational database system it uses to store and access logbook and awards data, and server hosting, where it will be fully migrated to the cloud. These changes will, among other improvements, ensure LoTW performance needs can be better met based on user demand. LoTW will be unavailable from June 27 to July 2, 2025, to complete these upgrades.

Re: LoTW will be unavailable June 27 to July 2, 2025
Last year, LoTW was down for months during the same time because of the ARRL’s compromised data management, and they had to pay seven figures in ransom to get the data back. Now, this year, they decided to purposely bring LoTW down to do maintenance during the biggest amateur radio event of the year.
It’s really sad to see the lack of leadership and problems in an organization that was once so relevant in our hobby and passion. While disappointing, it's no surprise the organization is hemorrhaging revenue and membership. Then, when other organizations are rising to satisfy the needs of amateur radio operators, instead of learning best practices from them to rebuild their own membership, the ARRL’s response is to bring lawsuits against them.

Since log book of the world is unavailable look at using World Radio League logbook. WRL has many features for POTA, field day and many other contest.

Yup, it won't affect me either. Unfortunately, it will for a lot of other people. Nothing insurmountable, but what a ridiculous time to do planned maintenance,

I believe this was intentional at this peak use time to avoid having to pay a ransom...

Actually, one has nothing to do with the other. The ARRL's data was compromised because of how they manage their data and backups. Field Day is not relevant. I'm not a member, so it didn't affect me, but for those who are, I read comments from many who weren't happy in having their information exposed and seven figures of their membership money used to pay that ransom.

ARRL® Logbook of The World® Return to Service
Dear LoTW user,
ARRL The National Association for Amateur Radio® will return Logbook of The World® (LoTW®) to service at 10:00 AM EDT on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
We are happy to be bringing the upgraded LoTW servers online, as we know radio amateurs around the world rely on LoTW to receive QSLs and apply for awards. The improvements we made will make no change in the visual appearance of LoTW but will provide enhanced performance and continued reliability of the system.
To those LoTW users who donated in response to my letter last week—thank you! Over $4,000 was raised in this short time. But there’s still work to be done and funding the ongoing operations of LoTW is critical.
If you are not a member of ARRL, please join! There’s no better way to support LoTW. If you’d like to donate, there’s still time for you to help! You can make your LoTW supporting gift of $20, $50, or more toward the ARRL LoTW Fund or visit www.arrl.org/donate to support the maintenance and expansion of LoTW.
Thank you, and very 73!
