When I read the title I thought you were talking about a vertical dipole. This device is pretty neat. The one thing I don't like is the orientation of the coax connector and gravity forcing the bend.
I have the MFJ-2220 (which comes with (20m hamsticks), and it has the same problem. That was solved with a 90° adapter. The MFJ doesn't have an attachment for another vertical antenna, but it does allow me to change between a horizontal dipole and a vertical dipole. The latter required some fabrication to get the coax away from the downfacing element. You can see a picture of that on my QRZ page.
