Information Technology and Website Administration

Develop, implement, maintain, and manage WPBARG’s information technology resources and website. Provide reliable, secure, and accessible technology services that support the organization’s committees, members, activities, and events. Maintain and update website content, systems, and online resources to provide timely and relevant information to members and visitors. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that improve communication, collaboration, efficiency, and the overall operation of WPBARG.

Testing and Education

Coordinate and administer bimonthly amateur radio license examinations and educational programs for individuals seeking to obtain or upgrade their amateur radio licenses. Develop and provide training, study materials, classes, and instructional events to support successful examination outcomes and continued operator development. Promote lifelong learning and technical proficiency within the amateur radio community while encouraging new and existing operators to expand their knowledge, skills, and participation.

Winter Field Day

Develop and coordinate a Winter Field Day team and prepare for the annual Winter Field Day event. Organize and manage all disciplines, activities, equipment, and operational requirements associated with Winter Field Day. Coordinate volunteers and committee responsibilities to ensure the event is conducted safely, effectively, and efficiently. Promote Winter Field Day as an opportunity for fellowship, emergency preparedness, operating practice, and amateur radio education, with safety, fun, and education as the top priorities, in that order.

Field Day

Develop and coordinate a Field Day team and prepare for the annual Field Day event. Organize and manage all disciplines, activities, equipment, and operational requirements associated with Field Day. Promote Field Day as an opportunity for fellowship, public outreach, emergency preparedness, and amateur radio education, with safety, fun, and education as the top priorities, in that order.

Youth Outreach Programs

Design, develop, and implement coursework, classroom events, and educational programs for Palm Beach County youth. Work with the Palm Beach County school system, home-school associations, and other organizations to promote education in amateur radio, computers, and robotics. Coordinate with youth organizations to provide amateur radio education, events, and programs. Encourage and recognize youth educational achievement while supporting the formation, growth, and continued operation of amateur radio clubs at the high school and college levels.

Community Relations

Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, civic groups, public agencies, and other organizations to promote awareness and understanding of amateur radio. Represent WPBARG at community events and activities, and identify opportunities for members to participate in public service and community outreach. Coordinate amateur radio support for community events, emergency preparedness activities, and public service initiatives. Promote WPBARG and amateur radio throughout the community while fostering positive relationships with organizations, businesses, and the public.

Asset Management

Develop and maintain an accurate inventory of all WPBARG-owned equipment, property, and other assets. Establish procedures for the acquisition, assignment, use, maintenance, storage, and disposition of organizational assets. Ensure that equipment is properly maintained, accounted for, and available when needed for WPBARG activities and events. Work with other committees to identify equipment needs, recommend acquisitions and replacements, and ensure responsible stewardship of WPBARG resources.

Corporate History

Document, preserve, and maintain the history of WPBARG, including its founding, organizational development, members, activities, accomplishments, and significant events. Collect and preserve historical records, photographs, publications, artifacts, and other materials related to the organization and its members. Develop and maintain an accessible historical archive to ensure that WPBARG’s legacy and contributions to amateur radio and the community are preserved for future generations.
